FAITH OF OUR FATHERS

Dave Wisnewski's Story

PACE Class - 18 June 17

You may remember a song called "A Boy Named Sue". That is kind of like how my dad was. My dad gave me an example of what not to do. He would go to Catholic mass, and then he would leave the church and go to the bar for the rest of the day, and he would come home roaring drunk at 10 or 11 o'clock on a Sunday night.

I know he had a difficult upbringing himself. He grew up among Polish immigrants, and he had it tough with 8 kids in the family. But what I learned was not to be my dad.

That was the best example, like "A Boy Named Sue". That's how I made it, to say "I am not going to be like you". That is part of Father's Day, as David mentioned in his introduction.
